This league is designed for our youngest players to help them learn the fundamentals of softball. The girls are pitched to using a pitching machine. This is normally a very fun experience where no real score is kept.We focus on teamwork and learning the rules and how to play the game. The games are played on Quarry and Hansen fields.

  2011 Travel Softball Tryouts
Girls 10U through 16U wanting to tryout for the Renegades travel teams for the 2011 season please contact Paul Nyby
Keep your softball skills sharp by playing HVBSA fall softball !!
HVBSA would like to form one or more teams to compete against players from Princeton and possibly other local towns who participated in the 2010 spring season (Ewing, Lambertville). Current plans are for games to be played on Friday evenings, early September to early November, so as not to conflict with other fall sport's schedules. Last fall, our team consisted of girls from Grades 7-12, but we'd like to extend fall ball to girls Grades 3-6 this year, and form a younger team too. We ask that girls in grades 3 through12 and coaches and parents who would like to be coaches that are interested, please email Manny Charles at echarles@usgs.gov. Once we can gauge the interest level, we will place an option for registration on the website. Manny can also be reached at 609-651-5140 if you need more information. We estimate there will be a nominal $20 registration fee to cover the cost of umpires.
  Catcher's Classes
Starting Sept 13 through Oct 25, Monday evenings 6:30-8:00 pm. @ Quarry, John Scheese will be conducting catcher's classes for girls ages 12 and up. Please contact John at jscheese320@hotmail.com or 609 737-8691.
  Basic Skills Clinic Scheduled
Starting July 31 and continuing through the end of summer, the HVBSA travel program will be sponsoring basic skills clinics each Saturday morning, 9:00 am to noon at Quarry Field for all girls 8-18. We have committed guest specialist/coaches as well as the travel coaches to help refine your hitting, pitching, catching, fielding and throwing skills. We will focus on one basic skill area each week and review previous skill sessions to reinforce the learning. Following the skill session we hope to have enough girls to play a pickup game. An email will be sent out each week to the players/parents detailing the next session and coaches attending with a review of the previous lesson. The first session will focus on catching and throwing. We encourage all ages to attend because we feel the younger girls can really benefit from interacting with older more experienced players. Please respond by email Paul Nyby so we can have an approximate head count.
Hopewell Renegades 10U MSGSL Championship Game
Our 10U Renegades were in the MSGSL Championship game (second time in as many years) on July 21st. This year it was against Hillsborough. It was a very close game and the game had to go into extra innings. Hopewell ended up as the runner-up in a tight 1-0 ballgame.
