How do I register for HVBSA?
HVBSA registration are accepted online from our website. Registration for the 2008 season will open on Jan 5, 2008 and close on March 1, 2008.

How can I be more involved?
- Volunteer to be a coach or manager by notifying the appropriate league coordinator. Go to the Baseball or Softball page, find the coordinator and email that person.
- Volunteer to be on the various committees, contact the HVBSA Vice President for more information.
- Take a position within the league. Elections every November.

Where are the games played?
- Baseball games are played primarily at the municipal complex on Scotch Rd.
- Softball games are played at the municipal complex and at the Trap Rock field on Rt 31.

What is the Rutgers Coaching Clinic?
The Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Clinic (Sports Awareness for Educating Today's Youth) is a three-hour program that meets the "Minimum Standards for Volunteer Coaches Safety Orientation and Training Skills Programs" (N.J.A.C. 5:52) and provides partial civil immunity protection to volunteer coaches under the "Little League Law". What is Field Prep Day?
Field Prep Day is a scheduled activity to prepare the HVBSA complex and the Quarry complex for the upcoming season. Parents volunteer their time to make the HVBSA facilities (buildings and fields)safe and ready for baseball and softball use. HVBSA typically schedules several "Field Prep Days" on weekends in early/mid March to offer parents scheduling choices.

Is Field Prep Day a mandatory activity?
Participation in Field Prep Day is mandatory for one parent per family . Additional 4 hour block/session by player's second parent may be used to satisfy HVBSA requirement for 4 volunteer hours per parent.

How do I get my Field Prep Day assignment? Does weather affect schedule?
Parents are expected to "sign-in" at the Municipal Complex. A sign-in sheet will be posted at the Red Building (behind Bacon Field). Parents will be assigned work at sign-up. Examples of the jobs assigned include snack bar cleaning, building/fence painting, dirt distribution, etc. Weather rarely impacts the Field Prep activities. In cases of severe weather contact your child's division coordinator or check the website for latest details.

What do I need to bring to Field Prep Day?
Please bring yard cleanup tools like rakes and shovels and a good work ethic. Hand tools should be marked with your name. Parents should wear work clothes and gloves.
